POLICY FOR MAINTAINING A PERSONAL DATA ARCHIVE

The personal data of the users of our website are used, according to what is specified in Law 2472/97 regarding the “Protection of individuals against the processing of personal data”, as supplemented and amended by Law 3471/2006 (Government Gazette Α 133/2006) and Law 3917/2011 (Government Gazette Α 22/21.2.2011).

A website collects personal data when the visitor/user:
- registers for its services,
- uses its services, and
- visits its pages

When simply browsing the TIFF’s webpages, no personal data of the visitor/user is collected.

The use, on the part of the Thessaloniki International Film Festival (TIFF), of the personal data of visitors/users will take place exclusively for providing information and support to users during the operation of the services for which they have registered, for meeting the requirements of these services, and for updating visitors/users regarding the promotion of new services.  

The above information may be requested in order for the visitor/user to join the TIFF’s mailing list and to receive newsletters from the TIFF’s various webpages.

With the visitor/user’s consent, the personal data collected can be used in order to send the user communication materials via e-mail, such as updates of main articles, information about the user’s account or any changes to the page the user is visiting and, with the user’s consent, messages for TIFF services or for products and services of TIFF marketing associates.

The User acknowledges and accepts that the TIFF has the right to transmit personal data to any partner company and product and services provider for operational and IT service purposes, for statistical or historical purposes.

The TIFF maintains a record of the aforementioned data for the period of time you remain a registered user. As a registered user of our website you may access your personal data at any time (Article 12 of Law 2472/1997). You may also request that your data be changed or deleted, and you may object to the processing of data that concerns you (Article 13 of Law 2472/1997). The TIFF reserves the right to use the e-mail addresses of its website’s users in order to update information concerning the sending of newsletters or offers. The User has the right to unsubscribe from the newsletter mailing list and to leave the TIFF’s database at any time, upon written notification of the webmaster at webmaster@filmfestival.gr

In any event, the TIFF may not disclose, publish, sell or exchange your personal data, which remain confidential. Exceptionally, retained data can be communicated to the competent judicial authorities, at their request, in accordance with current legislation.​
